Eyes are looking forward. MISSTEP You are in the ready position too long or not long enough. CORRECTION You can use the creep technique to ensure proper timing. 2). The creep technique is a series of small steps that puts you in the most athletic position possible as the pitch is being delivered. You keep your feet moving so that you are able to react more quickly if the ball is put into play. You should enter the ready position as the pitcher delivers the ball, allowing you enough time to see the flight of the ball and react immediately to contact.
